Welcome to the latest issue of Foresttech.News.
A lot can happen in just a month. As you many of you will have heard, due to New Zealand’s current covid-19 outbreak and current restrictions on travel and running events, we have needed to reschedule ForestTECH 2021. Now rebranded ForestTECH 2021/22, this event will instead be held 23-24 February 2022 in Rotorua, New Zealand and virtually online.
The good news is that it will be the same programme, speakers, exhibitors, and venue. For those who will be travelling into Rotorua, the same three pre-conference workshops/meetings are also going to be run as planned. We have had a great response to date, both with the physical and virtual registrations and look forward to bringing you the event early next year.
This month we’ve included details on a couple of excellent resources from Planet, including a detailed video webinar on the latest forest management tools. We’ve also included an article and video highlighting Stora Enso’s participation at ForestTECH 2021/22, which will cover mechanised solutions for silviculture, precision forestry and big data management.
Another article this month highlights the release of New Zealand’s updated regulations on the management of agrichemicals for spray operators, growers and other users. The updated standards focus on the environment, biosecurity, safety and new technologies.
